Friday, May 25

Today I went through an entire morning of cardio tests to make sure my heart is ready for major surgery. I passed. The surgery is on for next Wednesday, and I am actually looking forward to it in a strange way. It should take my level of pain down from a 4-10 pain level to a 0-2. An improvement for sure!

The pathology test came back showing that I have Ductal Carcinoma that is Estrogen Receptor Positive. For those who are new to cancer (like me) that is good news. Being positive means that it is less invasive and easier to treat. The Oncologist talked about shutting down my estrogen and putting me in a post menopausal state instead of chemo. Jon is a little scared of what a woman does (or says) when she is post menopausal. :) We will be researching this option and praying hard in the next two weeks after surgery.

We are spending the Memorial Weekend getting prepared for next week and trying to stay healthy. Thanks to Sandy Weston, I have this wonderful Blog that will help keep everyone informed of my condition when I am in the hospital.

I have eaten a Big Mac, In-n-Out Burger, and a Malt. For those of you who have prayed specifically for my appetite to come back, I thank you! If circumstances were different, I would look really good in a bathing suit right now.
