Does God Care?

Does God really care? I think we have all wondered that at some time in our lives. This world is so big, and we are on it for such a short time. Does God really care about our loved ones, finances, disappointments, sorrows...

It would be very easy to think that He has more important things to do than to keep on eye on me. I am just a speck, a vapor, and a flawed one at that.

"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows." Luke 12:6,7

It is comforting to know that Jesus faced pain and responded much like we do. When his friend Lazarus died, He wept. In the garden before His cruxifiction He experienced sorrow, fear, abandonment, even desperation. He asked His Father to save Him from death, and the answer was no. While on the cross, Jesus cried out, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?" (Mark 15:34)

Jesus endured pain because He knew that His Father loved Him, and Jesus trusted that love regardless of how things appeared at the time. Jesus demonstrated to us what faith is. Jesus had faith in His Father, and He was confident that there was a greater purpose in death.

We don't get to pick our adversities. We never know what will be handed to us. We live in a fallen world, and Satan wants to get to us any way he can. He wants us to question God's power, God's love, and God's Word. If we can be confident like Jesus (that God loves us and can work all thing for the good-Romans 8:28) then we can know that there is a greater purpose for the trials that we face. Sometimes it is to bring us to our knees and seek God and stop relying on ourselves (that could be a whole Blog in itself!). Sometimes God wants to use our trials for the greater good of showing faith to those who don't have it.

For Jehovah hears the cries of his needy ones, and does not look the other way. Psalm 69:33

It is amazing to know that God does care. He hears our cries, day or night, and He is ready to meet our needs and heal our hurts. He keeps telling us to fear not. We need to keep our eyes on Him and have faith in His Word. When you are facing dark times, just keep reminding yourself that God cares and when you call on Him, he will not look the other way.

Thank you God,
Sandy
