It is funny, after posting about being incredibly tired, I had a weekend that was so full, I had no time to be tired!
On Saturday, I was invited to give my testimony at the Hacienda Heights Baptist Church Spring Luncheon. It was an honor because HHBC will always be my "home" church. There were women in attendance that have known me practically all my life. The theme was "Hope Heals", and I certainly believe that hope can heal anything when your hope comes from the one true God. The verse that was at the center of the theme is a promise from God that I have claimed in my own life.
"For you know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
What an outstanding promise from the God who created the universe! He has plans for you! You are not a little speck in His universe that He does not care about. If you are in the middle of a crisis, you can be sure that if you call upon the Lord, He will hear you and make good on His promise. Often times He does not work out our problems in the way we would have envisioned, but it is good to remember that God sees the big pictures and that His timing is perfect. That is where hope and faith come in. You need to have faith and trust in God's love for you. You need to have hope that although you don't see your answer right away, God is working behind the scenes in amazing ways.
It was a wonderful gift to be a part of the HHBC Luncheon. We laughed and cried and had great fellowship with each other. God certainly had His hand on the day!
I then hopped in the car and headed out to San Diego Wild Animal Park for a "Roar and Snore" sleepover with my Brownie Troop. I am blessed to have 11 amazing girls (one is my own precious Michelle), and their mothers are why they are so amazing. The saying "The apple does not fall far from the tree" applies to my troop in a very positive way. We all had a blast together. No drama, no harshness. It is a pleasure to be with each girl and Mom.
This week my GS Troop is taking turns bringing dinners to my family as I finish off my last week of radiation. I am weathering better than I thought, but I still plan on keeping it low key the next three weeks. Thank you for all of your prayers. The four weeks of radiation has gone very well. We won't really know if it worked on eliminating the pain in my legs until I back off of the pain medication in 3-4 weeks.
Have a great week and remember there is always hope!
