As Near As Your Breath

Did you know that it is God's passion to be as near to us as our very breath?

When the trees crash down and the power goes out, and when all your light has turned to darkness, do you call on him? When you cry out in the storm, when your flesh fails you, and when you see no way out, do you pray to a distant God who seems disinterested? When you call on him is he up there somewhere, or is he as near as your very breath?

Some people have sat in church most of their lives and never prayed to receive the mighty and marvelous personal relationship with Jesus.  Others believe that such a relationship is possible, but it is not for them.  And then there are those who feel they do not deserve such a personal relationship with the Almighty God and Creator of the universe.

A simple prayer is all it takes to enter into a relationship with Jesus this very moment.  In the storms of life do you long for God's nearness and friendship?  You need to know that He long for yours.  It seems unimaginable that God wants to be your friend.  We are hopeless, frail and weak, and yet God made us for himself.  With that in mind, why would anyone choose to walk the storms of life alone?

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace."  John 16:33

When I am feeling fearful of tomorrow, I remember that I am not an orphan without a Father to call on.  I have the most powerful Father in the universe!  It is one of many reasons why I crave to be near Him day after day.  I tell Him everything, let it all hang out, and thankful beyond words that He listens to me ( a mere speck in this world), and promises never to leave me alone.

If you have been longing to have this personal relationship, it just takes one prayer.  This is how you say it:

Thank you God for loving me, and for sending your Son to die for my sins.  I sincerely repent from all my sins, and I receive Jesus Christ as my personal savior.  I am now your child and turn my entire life over to you.  Amen.

If you prayed this for the first time, please tell me, and others.  It should be told so that you can get the support and prayer that God wants you to have for the rest of your life.  He is now ready to be as near as your very breath!
