I Will Carry My Cross

I had my tests on Tuesday, and for the CT Scan, I have to drink 16 ounces of a milky substance starting 3 hrs, and then hourly, until before my scan. It is not pleasant to drink, but Tuesday I was having an especially hard time getting it down. By the time I checked in at the front desk, I was in the middle of a little pity party. I sat down in the lobby waiting to be called, and my attention was drawn to a young boy who was playing with a car. I noticed that every 1-2 minutes, his father and mother would draw a syringe of white substance and try to get him to drink it. The boy would drink without complaining and continue to play with his car. The boy was drinking the same liquid I was having a hard time drinking that morning.

There are many times I would like to not carry this cross that I bear. Truth be told, if I was in a room of crosses, I would probably pick up my own. I most certainly would not pick up a cross that involved sitting in a waiting room feeding my child CT Contrast.

Thank you Jesus for taking the cross for me, so that I don't have to carry my own cross alone. You really do make the load lighter.

Love,
Sandy
