Keep on Trucking!
Do you remember that bumper sticker?
If so, you are old.
Today I got the green light for chemo. My white blood count was back up, and so I had my infusion. Since I am on a three weeks on and one week off cycle, next week is my week off (even though I missed a week of chemo). I was also told I don't have to have the Neupogen shots this week and next (yeah!). I actually have two weeks before I have to be back at City of Hope (yeah again)! It looks like I will continue with chemo on Tuesdays and get shots three days after of Neupogen.
More good news is that I may be able to order the shots and have someone administer the shot at home saving me a trip to COH. I have heard women say they gave themselves the shot. I may have the courage to tell Satan where to go, but I can't imagine giving myself a shot. I would be sitting on the bed saying, "on the count of 100, ready 1,2,3..." I don't think Jon would be excited about it either. Fortunately, I know about a 1/2 dozen nurses in La Verne!
This all brings me to the wonderful conclusion that God placed special people in my life before I even new I would need them! I just love my friends! I love the way we became friends, and I love the way we all support each other. I admit, I am the most needy one these days, but they all don't seem to mind. God gives gifts big and small. If you don't believe that, then ask God to give you a little gift this week to remind you of His love. I bet by the end of the week something will pop up and make you happy inside that God responded. We often want to call these gifts a coincidence, but they are not. They are Godincidences (it is not a word in the dictionary, so don't bother to look it up).
If you...know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11
I can think of hundreds of little gifts that God has given me over the years. They are enough for me to be thankful and have no doubts that God thinks I am special among the trillions of people He has created. He thinks the same way about you!!! Really!!
Knowing God character helps me live in confidence that He will provide in ways big and small. It keeps me trucking (yes, I had to tie that in somehow).
When we as God's children are living in faith, we can have an exciting expectancy and a quiet confindence that God will give us exactly what we need, when we need it. Matthew 7:8-11
My prayer is that you can keep trucking with Jesus!
Don't forget to let Him do the driving!
Sandy
