The Voice of Truth

The following are words from a song I can't get out of my head. It is off of my Casting Crowns CD. If you like contemporary Christian music, then this is a great CD. I just recieved this CD for my birthday. The words rang true for me during a time of doubt and fear. Satan has a way of trying to fill my head with lies about my future, but God's word says that I should not be worried.

Voice of Truth
By Mark Hall & Steven Curtis Chapman

Oh, what I would do to have the kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant with just a sling and a stone. Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors shaking in their armor wishing they'd have had the strength to stand.

But the giant is calling out my name and he laughs at me. Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed. The giant keeps on telling me time and time again. "You will never win!"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story. The voice of truth says, "do not be afraid!" The voice of truth says, "this is for my glory." Out of all the voices calling out to me, I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth.

The part that really went straight to my heart was the part about not being afraid and that this is for God's glory. When I listen to the voice of truth (God), I feel His power and the possibilities of what could happen in my furture seem very exciting. The beautiful part of this is that if you are walking close with God, then you know His voice and you can identify it through all the other voices that are telling you lies.

Thank you Jesus that your promises preserve my life!
