Thank you to all of my Brownie Girls, their families, and our family's friends, for walking on Sunday to raise money for breast cancer research. This was our second year of walking the City of Hope "Walk for Hope." We had a wonderful day, and I am sure everyone felt uplifted to see the strength and promise that comes from people united for a cause. If you want to make a donation, the website is www.walk4hope.org/la look for the team name "MRS B'S BROWNIES." This is the final week to make an on-line donation.
Thank you to all who are praying for our family. We feel it!!! We would not be functioning in the positive and joyful way that we do without the confidence that God is listening to your prayers and working wonders through this disease. Prayer is like fuel that drives us to be better, live better, and walk with God in a deeper way.
When I was in my teens, I loved to read books written by Ann Kiemel. She was a Christian writer who challenged youth to live big for Christ. I wondered then how I could ever do big things like she did, but I knew it was possible. Ann Kiemel wrote:
Impossible means that I,
and ordinary woman,
can be something special and significant
in this enormous, and hurting world.
I can be love where I live,
and that is Christ...
He really does make all the difference!
This made me think of my Brownie Girls, and my own daughters. You can make a difference! You are strong and loving young girls! Each one of you will grow to be a light in this world!
I also think of all us "older people". God is not done with us! We can have purpose at any age, and God can still do the impossible. He is the God of yesterday, today and tomorrow!
God Bless,
Sandy
