Sick of Being Wet!

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain!"
(Don't wait another day....start dancing today!!)

I have a Sales Leader at Allstate that ends his emails with this quote always listed. Although in theory I agree completely, and try to dance as much as possible, (An analogy only - because I tend to dance like Elaine on Seinfeld!) I'm getting a little tired of being wet.

My dad was sent by ambulance yesterday to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora. Room 212A. (626) 963-8411. His Esophageal Cancer is now causing problems, and it appears to now be closing off his stomach. Food is not staying down, and he has lost a lot of weight. He is also dehydrated. Because of his overall health, surgery to remove the tumor isn't an option for him. They can try radiating the area to shrink the tumor, implating a stent to open up a passage way to the stomach, or putting a feeding tube in the stomach to bypass the area altogether. We have opted for a procedure early next week to put the stent in. He will probably be leaving the hospital sometime soon, and then come back to Inter Community for the procedure. Please pray for his overall health and strength in the mean time, as it appears they will be sending him back to the Atria on a liquid diet. (I may go on a liquid diet of Jameson's Irish Whiskey!)

You know, as much as I love to run or walk in the rain, I learned from climbing and backpacking that often the better part of valor is to seek shelter from the storm. Sometimes above treeline the lightening can zap you. Fortunately we have a God who encourages us to seek shelter in Him. He beats a cramped, stinky, wind thrashed tent any day. Let Him shelter you.

I'll keep you posted on my dad. Thanks for your prayers.
