Hi Dear Friends,
Today Jon went with me to meet with the Radiation Oncologist. He is a wonderful man, very positive and informative. If you ever watched West Wing, he looks exactly like Toby Ziglar, but with a very warm personality. He said that the area they are focusing on to relieve the tingling in my legs is basically my tail bone (s1). He does not expect any side effects. It should only take 15 days. He saw no reason for me not to have a good mid-morning time slot, with a later time on Wednesdays for Bible Study. He was very encouraging and did not see this as a set back at all. He says these things come up, and that he and my other doctors still feel that my treatment is going very well and does not expect to see anything major on my upcoming tests that would indicate otherwise. Jon and I came out of the meeting feeling like we were on the right path, and this would be a piece of cake. I still would appreciate prayer for this Monday. I will be at City of Hope all day for tests.
Meanwhile, I have started back scrapbooking again. It is nice to have something in the evenings to do. I am so thankful that my neck is holding up well, and that I can do things like that. I am also reading a wonderful book given to me by my friend Dr. Laura. It is called, "Dear God, They Say It's Cancer" by Linda Thompson. If you have experienced breast cancer, or know someone who is going through it, this book is a wonderful guide that is full of scripture and insight. The chapter I read today was about her surgery and experience being in the hospital. It brought back memories for me of what I went through and how so many of my family and friends ministered to me during those uncomfortable and scary days in the hospital.
Thank you again for your prayers today!
Love,
Sandy
