My Special gift from God came yesterday when I was at City of Hope. I knew God was giving me a gift just by the energy I have been feeling despite my blood counts. I should be dragging myself room to room in a daze, yet I am full of life and pain free! Since I had blood and platelets last week, I anticipated my counts being up, and they were. Praise God! But the gift came when my Oncologist said, "You are doing so well, let's give you a chemo break for the holidays." A total break from driving to City of Hope until January (a break for Lynn & Debbie, my faithful friends/drivers)!!! What a gift! God knew what He was doing leading up to this moment, and it was the biggest package under the tree! A gift to trump all gifts!
When I prayed in October for God to lift the pain and suffering I have endured over a year, I knew that He would respond. He is never silent long, from my experience. Not that I never have to wait for the answer I want, or that He is obedient to my requests, but I was at my limit and I knew He was going to catch me from falling off the cliff and into the valley. He would provide.
Is that not what Christmas is all about? God came down and provided for us all in a way that was unlike anything that could be imagined at that time. Unexpected, humble, but also glorious and powerful. The type of gift that it so unique you can hardly take in the magnificence of it all!
I know this came about on a huge cloud of prayers from all of you! You participated in this gift of freedom, and letting my body strengthen naturally over the next four weeks. You have kept me going in a very hard year. Your name is on the gift tag along with God's!!!

An eternal instant. An instant in time that had no time. A picture froze in mid-frame, demanding to be savored! A moment that reminds you of the treasures surrounding you. Your home. Your peace of mind. Your health. A moment that tenderly rebukes you for spending so much time on temporal preoccupations. A moment that can bring a mist to the manliest of eyes and perspective to the darkest life.
It was such a moment when the Creator smiled and said, “It is good.” It was such a moment in the “fullness of time” when a carpenter, some smelly shepherds, and an exhausted young mother stood in silent awe at the sight of the infant in the manger.
Eternal instants. You’ve had them. We all have them. But may you have more of them. You are, in a very special way, on holy ground.

Thank you so much for your incredible prayers!!!
