A decision was made to start chemo next Tuesday (9/22). I will still get the port on 10/2. Until then they will just do an IV. Jon will be with me all day. Lots of blood work before and after. I will get a time slot and then it will become routine. I will be taking people up on driving me until I get past the first round.
The chemo is not very harsh. Most people get this chemo and continue on with their day and don't skip a beat. My hair will most likely fall out at the end of the first month. Eventually, the hair grows back despite the continued treatment. The longest they have had someone on this treatment is 11 months. A good prayer request is that my cancer does not find a way to get around this chemo. Once it does, I have to move on to something stronger. They will be testing me quite often by way of a CT Scan.
