June Lake

We just got back from our only motorhome trip this summer. We went to our favorite spot, June Lake. We met up with our friends, Randy and Carol. We were also surprised to see an Oak Mesa family, the Litwins, who pulled in right before us. We had spots right across from each other at the campground, and all of us had a great time together.

One of the highlights for me was going out in Carol's kayak on June Lake. On our last day there, I paddled out to the middle of the lake. I sat and marveled at the majestic mountains, the emerald water, and the blue sky. My family was having a great time, and I had such joy and thankfulness that God is so merciful and great that I could be doing all these things with my family that physically I thought I may not ever be able to do last year. I felt victorious as I paddled in, and then I thought of the one thing I had not done yet. Swim to the rock! My friend, Michelle, and I partnered up and went for it! The water was very cold, but refreshing once we got going.

When we got home, we had some serious catching up to do on the Olympics. I love the Olympics for all the great stories that are told about endurance and pushing the limits. They are all going for a dream. They press forward for the prize, a medal. I pray each day that God will give me endurance and strength as I press forward toward the prize of being in God's presence and Him saying, "Well done my good and faithful servant." I am running the race. Jon always reminds me that it is a marathon, not a sprint. I don't want to rush life, I want to savor every moment with my family and friends. I want to press forward for the prize of knowing that I shared my faith and perhaps made a difference in someone's relationship with God.

I hope you are enjoying the Olympics and thinking of your own goals in life!
God Bless,
Sandy
