Seizure!

Sandy had a very bad seizure yesterday afternoon at The City of Hope. She was in recovery from a Mylogram/Catscan that they did to try and pinpoint why she is still having electrical charges running down her spine. She was just about ready to go home when she had the seizure. "Fortunately", it was at The City of Hope, (and not in the parking lot, or on the 210 Freeway at 3:00 PM) and "fortunately", she was with Joan Fink, who is a nurse, worked at Lanterman State Hospital, and has lot's of experience with seizures. (Because if I had been there, I would have run out of the room screaming like a 5 year old girl......) Joan immediately turned her on her side as nurses and doctors rushed into the room. Sandy woke up later to a bunch of Doctors standing over her, (which is scary in and of itself) and doesn't remember anything. She has been kept overnight at The City of Hope and has been put on anti seizure medication and monitored very closely. She still is a little "foggy" over minor short term memory issues. (She couldn't remember the date when she came to, and later couldn't remember who got voted out of the Survivor episode we watched the night before. Things like that.)

The Doctors think that she has had a reaction to either the spinal fluid taken out, or the dye that they injected into her for the Mylogram. They will do a brain MRI this morning to be sure.

I'll try and keep you posted, but hopefully she will be released this afternoon.
