Joy

This weekend was a busy one. We went out on Friday night and picked out our tree and decorated it. It was a fun pulling out all of our ornaments that we have collected on our various vacations. We cranked up the Beach Boys Christmas Album and worked away. I get lots of joy out of decorating for Christmas with my family. Jon says he is not a big fan, but when he gets into it (you have to give him an eggnog with a little kick) he makes it fun for us all.

Life is joyful right now. We have come through a storm, and we are all enjoying the simple things in life. I think it has made this Christmas more meaningful, and the gifts less important. Except for Michelle who told Santa she wants a Nintendo Wii, which is impossible for Santa to get his hands on since it is the hottest item this season.

Did you know that God wants you to experience joy and peace at all times? When you put your focus on Christ and praise him for what He has done in your life, you can move forward and be victorious over all situations that you may face. Our family has been in the darkest valley, yet we never lost the ray of light that comes for the Lord. He has guided us through, and we have praised Him in the storm and come out victorious.

"You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand" (Psalm 16:11)

Heavenly Father, I cast all my cares on You and give You the praise. Let joy flow through me today so that I can be a light for you. Amen.
